Fun & Creative Minimalist Design for a Zoo

Minimalism is not a new style in corporate designs, but a zoo with a minimalist-themed brand identity might not be the first place you would think of seeing them. We’re used to seeing animals in vivid, life-like detail. Although, if you think about it, the precise uniqueness of animals is a fitting concept because their shapes and certain features can easily be identified to them.

Germany-based designer Tara Otto created a corporate identity for a fictional zoo – Animalia Zoological Garden – for her graduation project. Her designs feature simple geometric graphics and minimalist animal pictograms against bright and pastel colors backdrops.

Otto said she was inspired to create this project, which “combines my fascination for animals and my love for corporate design” and her desire to develop a zoo where “animal welfare was the number one priority.” The project also includes an illustrated map, guide, brochures, and other merchandise, as well as a layout for the would-be zoo website and app.

This serves as a nice design inspiration to those looking for branding and identity design that is clean and simple, and incorporates unique and attractive imagery and icons.
