Mozilla Needs Your Help Choosing Its Brand New, Open-Sourced Logo Design

Mozilla and its design agency partner johnson banks are on the cusp of rebranding software giant Mozilla with the help of the public. The campaign for a new global branding identity will come to fruition starting with a radical logo redesign. This move puts Mozilla in a precocious, but exciting, position to make a significant change to their image, one that has seen multiple updates throughout the years, but not of this scale. Furthermore, this reinforces Mozilla’s support of open sourcing in communities, not to mention, a game-changing approach to traditional crowdsourcing processes.

The real challenge now begins as Mozilla and johnson banks have recently released a shortlist of its first-round contenders picked from a wide pool of submissions. The first seven possible brand identities, as seen below, will be refined with your help. The shortlist will be reduced to three contenders, which they will carry through develop, with input from designers via different forms of feedback, like a blog comment or video.
