Even with this much attention from users all over the world, game developer Dong Nguyen shut the game down with a tweet saying, “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore.”

Although not as visually compelling as other games, it had a certain factor which made people come back for more. It was simple yet engaging and highly addictive. Through various social media, news about the mobile app spread as quickly as wildfire. Users could easily share high scores and beat their friends, as well as show their overwhelming addictions along with how they vent their frustrations on not beating the game.

To document the ups and downs of the mobile game, an infographic titled “Flappy Bird: A Legend In Its Own Time” shows the most interesting facts about the game and how it became, as it says “a legend in its own time”. The infographic features a timeline, illustrating the game’s success overtime.
