Make a List

Just like doing the grocery or doing a D.I.Y. project for the first time, the first thing you need to do is make a list. We suggest you have 3 of the most important, non-negotiable tasks at the top and the easier tasks at the bottom. Knowing that you’ve accomplished the more complicated tasks first is more rewarding than stressing over them at the end of the day.

Take Away All Distractions

You don’t have to have all of your social media websites open, in different tabs, at all times or keep checking your mail for a new message every 5 mins. Hit that X at the upper right corner of your browser, all those photos, quotes, and posts will still be there when you open them again in a few hours.

Environment

Believe it or not, you have control of your environment. If you work at home, be sure to work in a space with a door. If not, then put on those earphones, pull up your favorite playlist, and focus.

Group Similar Tasks Together

Set time aside to check mail every few hours to make sure you haven’t missed any updates. Or plan to waste a little time and update or look through posts on Facebook or Twitter so you can get that out of the way and give your brain a bit of a breather as well.

At the end of the day we all have a way of dealing with our own workload, but it all boils down to one thing really – just go and do it. All you really need is a little focus and you’ll most probably get the work done.
